OAK KITCHEN B Broyle Side, East Sussex
The brief was to design a kitchen and dining/recreational area in a converted timber barn and stable block. Two elongated rooms were opened up to form one large space, with the addition of vertical oak posts to replace the supporting wall.
With views open to the north and south, the kitchen is situated in the heart of the house and is the hub of family life. A long unit with a granite top was positioned in the middle of the new floor plan, forming a central island to define the kitchen and dining areas.
The cabinets were skilfully scribed into the existing oak
framework of the building, with a stainless steel range cooker forming the focal point of this contemporary oak design.
